Abstract
A scheme is presented for coding and fabricating high efficiency binary surface-relief-type synthetic diffractive elements in the resonance domain, that uses the first order of a pulse position modulated high frequency carrier grating. With this method a wide range of synthetic elements are obtained, including nonperiodic elements.
