Abstract

The conversation with Father Júlio Lancellotti took place on September 14, 2022, inaugurating the LabCom Café cycle of events in person. Held at the headquarters of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (FAUrb), of the Federal University of Pelotas, promoted by the Laboratory of Behavioral Studies (LabCom)12. In the conversation, Father Júlio participated remotely, while the audience was present in the FAUrb13 auditorium. Júlio Renato Lancellotti, better known as Father Júlio Lancellotti, is a pedagogue, priest and parish priest responsible for the São Miguel Arcanjo parish, in the Mooca neighborhood in São Paulo. Known for his daily fight for the human rights of minorities and, mainly, for his work with homeless people. In December 2022, Law No. 14,489 of 2022 was enacted, named Law Padre Júlio Lancellotti due to his fight against hostile architecture in several cities, which changed the Statute of Cities created in 2001.
