Abstract

An optimization problem for non-orthogonal multiple access full-duplex (FD) amplify-and-forward relay system is formulated to maximize the system energy efficiency, subject to a total transmit power. By introducing a variable transformation, the original non-convex fractional problem is transformed into a tractable one via successive convex approximation approach and Dinkelbach's method. Further, the near-optimal solution is obtained through Lagrangian dual decomposition. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm in FD mode significantly outperforms conventional orthogonal multiple access and sum rate maximization schemes.
