Abstract

By its very nature, instrumentation and measurement is an enabling technology that supports progress and development in a great multitude of areas in science, engineering and beyond. Measurement is used to help make rational decisions, inference or planning. When used incorrectly, it can lead to wrong conclusions, bad choices, poor designs, etc., ultimately leading to dire consequences.
