Abstract
Responsibility for student mental health is increasingly coming under the job role of teachers. Levels of poor well-being teachers is increasing and this study explored the role of responsibility for student mental health as a unique job predictor. An opportunity sample of 488 UK teachers completed an online survey. Initial results show that negative emotions associated with student mental health predicts levels of burnout, job satisfaction and intention to quit. Feeling responsible for student mental health predicted levels of perceived stress. Potential
moderators include teacher self-efficacy and self-confidence in dealing with student mental health.
