    Abstract

    The role of borohydride reduction of carbohydrates was examined, using two enzymic methods for the determination of the alditols. D-manno-oligosaccharides were subjected to end group analysis after borohydride reduction. The alditols liberated were D-mannitol and D-glucitol.
