Abstract
We analyze an aloha type access protocol where users have local interactions. We establish that the fluid model of the system workload satisfies a differential equation. We exhibit a sufficient condition on the stability of this differential equation and deduce a sufficient condition for the stability of the protocol. We discuss the necessary condition.
