Abstract

This study is part of the dissertation titled "The Perception of the Elderly Toward an Age-Friendly City – Neighborhoods of Navegantes, Fragata, and Centro." It is linked to a research project entitled PlaceAge: Designing Places with Older Adults – Towards Age-Friendly Communities, developed in partnership between Brazil and the United Kingdom. One of the objectives of this research is to investigate how the sense of place is experienced by older adults from different social contexts who live in various neighborhoods in both countries. Through the application of data collection methods, the study seeks to identify how older adults feel in their own neighborhoods, considering the everyday challenges they face, highlighting both the positive and negative aspects of living in those places. Aging is a natural stage of human life, involving physical, psychological, and social changes.
