Abstract

Under u.v. radiation diaryl disulphides (C₆H₄-p-R) ₂S₂ (R = H or Me) yield (C₆H ₃R-o-SC₆H₄R)₂S₂, which reacts with a variety of transition metal complexes to provide metallacycles [graphic omitted]C₆H₄R; one of these [Ru(CO)(SC ₆H₃Me-o-SC₆H₄Me)(η-C ₅H₅)], has been structurally identified by X-ray diffraction.
