Abstract

This paper presents a proposed photovoltaic array (PVA) model designed to decrease the simulation time when more than one PVA systems are connected in a microgrid. The proposed model is compared with a common PVA model, both implemented on MatLab-Simulink environment, using basic circuit equations of the photovoltaic (PV) solar cells. The two models are tested using a dc-dc boost converter coupled via an inverter per PVA system with a microgrid. The simulation of the proposed model is significantly faster.
