A Brief Overview of Data Standards and E-Government Interoperability Frameworks

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

E-government programs have witnessed significant growth in recent years in countries across the globe. One aspect of the technical background to this was the development of e-government interoperability frameworks that enabled the collating of data from varied sources in order for services to be provided online. This paper will present a brief overview of frameworks currently in place in the UK and also in Germany, including data standards that have been established. It will present the efforts that are underway to consolidate the frameworks that are merging to represent what can be considered to be EU-wide standards.
