3-D Printed In-Line Coaxial Filter and Diplexer Design Using Dual-Mode Coupled Stubs Resonator

Abstract

This letter introduces a dual-mode coupled stub resonator (DM-CSR), which can be manipulated to exhibit nondegenerate dual-mode features. The DM-CSR is then used to design a box-section topology in-line coaxial four-pole filter with the two controllable transmission zeros (TZs). Subsequently, a diplexer was designed for the first time based on the filter’s topology. Coupling windows were introduced to individually fulfill adjust external quality factor (Qe). Multiple TZs were generated for the diplexer, which obtained a high isolation degree of over 40 dB. A 3-D metal printing solution was used to fabricate both components; the tested results matched well with the simulated ones.
