Abstract

A code shifting technique operated in the pulse overlapping regime using only highly dispersive element and phase modulator is proposed and applied for high speed, dynamic reconfigurable time domain spectral phase encoding (SPE) optical-code-division-multiple-access (OCDMA).Proof-of-principle experimental demonstration in a 10-Gb/s, two-user SPE-OCDMA system with code-length variable spectral phase pattern of up to 1024 is reported.
