Abstract

All four diastereoisomers of 3-thymine-1-( tbutoxycarbonyl)aminocyclopentane-1-carboxylic acid have been synthesised from (S)-dimethyl malate and thymine monomer 12 has been incorporated into an a-cycloPNA oligomer.
