Principal's Public Engagement Award for Early Career Researcher

The prize recognises a researcher's abilities to reach new audiences not already engaged with research, and that can demonstrate a lasting impact on the public. Laura received the prize for her outreach work on the Changing Oceans Expedition, when she created and updated daily a website detailing the exciting research they were undertaking at sea.The blog was viewed over 23,000 times by people all around the world, and was featured by the BBC, Irish Times and Hebridean News, as well as a host of research institutions.
