Awarded Grant – McGraw Hill Learning Matters Grant AEF Dubai got McGraw Hill Learning Matters Grant, valued at £100,000. This grant will provide our faculty and students with access to McGraw Hill’s digital learning solutions for one academic year (next AY 2024/25), supporting our efforts to enhance digital learning, engagement, and interdisciplinary integration across multiple programs.
Application Process & Key Aspects of the Grant The application process was competitive and required us to submit responses through McGraw Hill’s platform, where we addressed key questions regarding our digital learning strategy, student impact, and university initiatives (document attached). A critical part of the selection process was a follow-up interview, where Zakiya and I presented our vision and demonstrated how this grant aligns with our digital transformation and sustainability goals. What This Grant Provides Through this grant, we will gain one-year free access to McGraw Hill’s premium digital learning tools, which include: Connect: An interactive learning platform with adaptive digital textbooks, ready-made course content, assessments, and analytics for student engagement. SIMnet: A Microsoft Office skills training platform, particularly useful for developing Excel and financial modeling competencies. ALEKS: An AI-driven math remediation and acceleration tool, helping students build strong foundations in quantitative finance and analytics. These tools will help us bridge skill gaps in digital finance, sustainability, and data-driven decision-making, ensuring students are better prepared for academic success and industry demands. Impact & Alignment with Our Strategy Though grant was initially planned for AEF, after our interview, we confirmed with Mc Graw that it can be extended to whole School. This grant should benefit our students globally, spanning undergraduate and postgraduate programs: Undergraduate: MA in Business and Finance, MA in Accounting and Finance Postgraduate: MSc in Finance and Management, MSc in Sustainable Finance with Fintech, MSc in International Accounting This initiative strongly supports: ✔ University’s Strategy 2025 and Vision 2030, which focus on digital transformation and sustainability. ✔ The Green Knowledge Hub, reinforcing our research and teaching agenda on sustainable finance and fintech. ✔ Course modernization, integrating innovative digital resources into the curriculum to improve engagement and learning outcomes.
