The World Renewable Energy Congress WREC-2011 Linköping, Sweden, May 8th – 13st, 2011.

The World Renewable Energy Congress (WREC) was held on May 8–13, 2011 at Linköping University, Linköping, Sweden. The Congress was hosted by the Division of Energy Systems, Department of Management and Engineering in close cooperation with the World Renewable Energy Congress/Network (WREC/WREN). The overall theme of the WREC 2011 was “Future Trends and Applications in Renewable Energy Technologies and Sustainable Development”, and covered a wide range of topics related to renewable energy technology, energy efficiency, climate change and sustainable energy systems. During WREC 2011 presentations on cutting-edge research and keynote lectures by international experts were complemented by workshops on central subjects, as well as international exhibition and poster display.

WREC 2011 was an international scientific conference for discussion and knowledge exchange for scientists, policy-makers, stockholders, engineers and other specialists with an interest in issues related to renewable energy.
