Research interests
Dr Viktorija Mano is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and Assistant Professor in Economics and Finance at Heriot-Watt University Dubai. Her expertise lies in development economics, economic policy, and curriculum innovation, with particular interests in sustainable economic development and the circular economy.
Her research applies mixed-method approaches informed by institutional and complexity theory to examine economic policy and development outcomes. Her work has been presented at international conferences and published in journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings.
Dr Mano has extensive experience in academic leadership, programme development, and international partnerships. She previously served as Head of Academic Partnerships, where she oversaw UK and international collaborative programmes, supported quality assurance and regulatory compliance, and contributed to the development of new partnership and online programmes.
At Heriot-Watt University Dubai, she teaches across undergraduate and MBA programmes, including the MBA Business Project, where she integrates applied research and industry engagement into the curriculum. She is actively involved in portfolio development, online programme quality assurance, and curriculum innovation, supporting the strategic development of business and economics education across delivery modes.
