Theodoros (Theo) Georgiou is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at Heriot-Watt University whose research focuses on technology-assisted rehabilitation and the design of novel technologies that support health, wellbeing, and social impact. His work has explored wearable and haptic technologies for neurological rehabilitation, including Stroke and Huntington's disease, investigating how interactive systems can improve mobility, recovery, and quality of life. Building on this foundation, his research has expanded into human-robot interaction, socially assistive robotics, cybersecurity awareness, and digital inclusion, with projects spanning healthcare, education, and refugee communities.

Theo has led and contributed to interdisciplinary research projects involving rehabilitation technologies, socially assistive robots, refugee experiences of technology, and innovative approaches to security education. His research has been published in leading journals and international conferences.

Alongside his research, Theo is committed to teaching and student development, having received recognition for excellence in undergraduate supervision. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and actively contributes to the academic community through editorial, reviewing, and conference-organising roles.
