I joined Heriot-Watt University in September 2025 after completing my PhD in Finance in 2024 at Durham University, where my dissertation was awarded Best PhD Dissertation in Finance for 2024–2025.

My research is in corporate finance, and I have published in the Review of Quantitative Finance & Accounting. I also have a paper under review with the Global Finance Journal. I have presented my research at academic conferences, including the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) conference in Portsmouth, UK, and the Financial Management and Accounting Research Conference(FMARC) in Larnca, Cyprus.

Before entering academia, I spent ten years working in the finance and investment sector in the GCC and earned the CFA designation. These professional and academic experiences continue to shape my approach to finance and inform the research questions I pursue.

I am interested in corporate culture and its impact on firm financial outcomes, M&A exits, corporate governance, analysts and institutional ownership. My work is based on textual analysis and NLP using bag-of-words methodology.
