Biography

Dr. Jessica Sze Yin Ho holds a PhD in Marketing, an M. Phil in Management, and a BBA in Marketing from Multimedia University (MMU), Malaysia. A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), U.K., she brings over 20 years of teaching and research expertise in higher education. Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Dr. Ho has received numerous teaching accolades, including the prestigious National Outstanding Educator Award in 2022. With a keen focus on academic excellence, she actively participates in curriculum design, program management, and accreditation processes, serving as a valued member of external examining and accreditation panels for various institutions locally and internationally. Dr. Ho is dedicated to fostering professional growth within academia and regularly mentors colleagues pursuing the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning and membership with AdvanceHE. Her commitment to supporting fellow academics has led to the successful attainment of Senior Fellow status at Advance HE for over 10 mentees. Committed to advancing teaching and learning, Dr. Ho has presented and published papers in this domain, earning her a Best Paper Award in 2021.

Beyond her teaching roles, Jessica has garnered valuable experience as a sales and marketing professional within multinational corporations. Recognizing the crucial link between industry and academia, she is deeply committed to bridging the knowledge gap and actively engages in industry-funded research projects focused on talent management and services marketing. Her research interests span diverse areas including Digital Marketing, Online Consumer Behavior, and Sustainable Consumption Behavior in emerging markets. Jessica is a proactive participant in esteemed marketing conferences worldwide, including the American Marketing Association (AMA) Conference, European Marketing Association Conference (EMAC), Australia and New Zealand Marketing Association Conference (ANZMAC), and Global Marketing Conference (GMC). Her contributions have been acknowledged with several Best Paper Awards and Excellent Constructive Reviewer Awards on an international scale.

Research interests: livestream marketing, digital marketing, social media marketing (tiktok/facebook), e-commerce, technology adoption, service quality delivery, sustainable consumption, green consumption/behaviour, and quality in higher education.

Research methods expertise: quantitative methods, qualitative methods, focus groups, interviews, and surveys.
