My research concentrates on financial and governance issues in sport, with a particular focus on professional football. I am interested in the intersection between sport organisations as businesses and sport organisations as social institutions and exploring the implications of this dual identity.
My academic background is in the areas of accounting and finance and I am a Chartered Accountant (ICAS). I work with a number of sport governing bodies, and lead workshops for aspirant football managers as part of the Scottish Football Association's UEFA Pro-licence qualification.
Programme Director, MSc International Sport Management
Co-I, ESRC funded project Alcohol FC - Understanding the role of alcohol consumption in football cultures
