Biography

Sandy is an Assistant Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University. She received her PhD in Management from the University of Hull in 2023, focusing on environmental sustainability in global logistics hubs. She also has extensive experience in higher education. Prior to joining Heriot Watt, she was a lecturer and programme leader at Northumbria University in London (2021-2024) and an associate lecturer at Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AAST) in Cairo (2009-2016). Her research interests include environmental logistics and transport, sustainable development, risk management, and resilience, employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches. She is currently engaged in ongoing research aimed at addressing pressing challenges in this field.
