Biography

Dr. Sajal Dey is an assistant professor in the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance at the Heriot-Watt University, Scotland. He pursued his Ph.D. in the area of Accounting and Finance from the Newcastle Business School, University of Newcastle, Australia. Apart from his academic background, he is also a qualified cost and management accountant from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). Further, Dr Dey holds the designation of FHEA. Before his current job, he worked as a senior lecturer at the University of Northampton in England and associate professor at the Jagannath University in Bangladesh. His areas of research are climate change disclosure and performance; corporate social responsibility disclosures and performance; big data and artificial intelligence in accounting and finance; CEO characteristics and board diversity. He has published scholarly articles in different reputed journals including the British Accounting Review,  the Journal of International Accounting Research, International Journal of Behaviour and Entrepreneurship Research,  the Journal of Economics and Administrative Science and so on.

Climate Change Disclosure and performance, Water disclosure and performance, Circular economy, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Corporate governance and sustainability.
