Research interests

Her research interests lie in translation theory (mainly cultural issues in translation and translation and the media) and cross-cultural communication, areas on which she has published several papers. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists and the Asociación Internacional de Hispanistas.

Biography

Raquel de Pedro Ricoy studied at the University of Valladolid, in Spain. After completing her undergraduate degree in Philology, she obtained a teaching qualification from the same university. Subsequently, she was awarded a PhD by the University of Edinburgh for a thesis on translation. In the past, she has worked for Oxford University Press as a freelance lexicographer (English-Spanish dictionaries) and for the Open University as a consultant author (Spanish and translation materials). She currently teaches Spanish written composition, translation and interpreting.

Fingerprint Fingerprint is based on mining the text of the persons scientific documents to create an index of weighted terms, which defines the key subjects of each individual researcher.
