Biography

I completed my undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at the Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2013. After obtaining my MSc (with high honours) in Structural Engineering and Steel Design from Istanbul Technical University in 2016, I worked as a research and teaching associate in Istanbul. Subsequently, I commenced my doctoral studies on the ultimate response of stainless steel bolted connections at the University of Birmingham. Upon obtaining my PhD in 2021, I joined the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society at Heriot-Watt University as an assistant professor in 2021. My current research is mainly focused on the use of sustainable metals in construction.
