My PhD was in association with Shell and titled Oil families and their inferred source rocks from the Niger Delta Basin. The research used petroleum geochemistry to redefine the petroleum systems of the Niger Delta Basin, thereby improving our understanding of the petroleum systems in the delta, focusing on the source and correlation of oils and how to predict improved hydrocarbon fluid type uncertainty during exploration and production. I also looked at the complex reservoir alteration processes that has affected hydrocarbon fluids in the basin.

I am currently a Research Associate working on sedimentological and geochemical characterisation of organic rich source rocks (mainly offshore black shales). I have also worked as a geoscientist in oil and gas consultancy for more than five years.
