Research interests: Empirical asset pricing and return predictability;entrepreneurial and behavioural finance; Financial markets in emerging economies; ethical finance.

Biography

Dr M. Sherif is an interdisciplinary finance researcher whose initial contributions to the finance literature are in the corporate finance, financial markets, and asset pricing fields. Together with Stuart Hyde from Manchester Business School, he has published a series of outputs on Asset Pricing and Corporate Finance.  Dr Sherif is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK He is a referee and member of editorial board for the Qualitative Research in Financial Markets, Journal of Business and Economics, the International Journal of Customer Relationship Marketing and Management and Finance Review. He is a conference reviewer for a number of international conferences. Dr Sherif is an approved tutor for Harvard School of Public health and has designed and taught undergraduate, graduate, and executive level courses and consulted with a variety of health care organizations concerning financial management. Also, he designed, prepared and participated in a number of the managerial programs and modules for trainees on different managerial levels in Egypt, Dubai, and the UK. Currently he is acting as the Programme Director for the MSc in Finance and Programme Director for the MSc in Finance & Management at Heriot-Watt University. He published a text book on Corporate Finance and has contributed to develop the Corporate Finance text book of Ross et al 2013 and Arnold 2014.
