Biography

Dr Capoferri is currently an Associate Professor and EPSRC Fellow at Heriot-Watt University and an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Milan.

After obtaining BSc and MSc in theoretical physics summa cum laude from the University of Pavia, he emigrated to London to undertake a PhD in Pure Mathematics at UCL, under the supervision of Professor Dmitri Vassiliev. He then moved on to Cardiff for a postdoctoral stint as part of the the Analysis Group during the global pandemic, and was appointed to a permanent post at Heriot-Watt University in 2022. In 2024 he took up a second permanent appointment at the University of Milan.

Dr Capoferri's research has been supported by numerous funding bodies, including EPSRC, the London Mathematical Society, and the Heilbronn Instutite for Mathematical Research.
