Biography

Maria-Daphne Mangriotis graduated from Brown University, Providence, USA with a BA in Geology-Physics/Mathematics in 2002. She received a M.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, USA in 2004. She received her PhD in Applied Seismology also from the University of California at Berkeley in 2009. She was a visiting researcher through the Marie-Curie Transfer of Knowledge Program hosted at the Institute of Engineering Seismology and Earthquake Engineering (ITSAK) in Thessaloniki, Greece. She completed a post-doc at the European Centre for Research and Training in Earthquake Engineering (EUCENTRE) in Pavia, Italy. She joined Heriot-Watt University as a Research Associate in 2013. She has worked as a staff engineer at FugroWest, Inc and has completed several R&D internships at Chevron and BerkeleyGeoImaging in California, USA.
