Biography

Marco is currently Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University. He carries out and supports research in the areas including macroeconomics, fiscal and monetary policy, energy economics and defence economics. Moreover, he works closely with members of BP Group Economics Team based in London and Washington DC as well as colleagues within CEERP on the Statistical Review of World Energy and Energy Outlook 2035.

Marco obtained both his BSc (December 2005) and his MSc (October 2006) in Political Science with the mark 110/110 cum laude. Then, he switched to Economics, completing the Research Master in Economics at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) with the grade of distinction (September 2010). In May 2011, he was awarded his PhD in Economics and Finance by the University of Verona (Italy). In December 2015, he obtained the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics (PhD) from the University of Glasgow - Adam Smith Business School. His PhD research was funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and he was former student of the Scottish Graduate Programme in Economics. Marco also worked at the Scottish Government - Office of the Chief Economic Adviser - and as teaching assistant at the University of Urbino (Italy) and the University of Perugia (Italy).

Macroeconomics, Fiscal Policy, Monetary Policy, Oil Prices and Business Cycles, Energy Economics, Defence Economics.
