Research interests

3D and 4D (i.e., time-resovled 3D) X-ray imaging of multiphase fluid flow in permeable media, AI-enabled porous media characterisation and flow analysis, and nature-based solutions.

Current projects

  • 3D-4D X-ray imaging and modelling of H2 and CO2 storage in subsurface rocks
  • Pore-to-core-scale dynamics of immiscible fluid displacement in porous media, including the role of wettability.
  • Multi-scale characterisation of heterogeneous rocks
  • Thermoregulation and ventilation in termite nests: Towards bio-inspired solutions to design energy efficient buildings
