Personal profile

Research interests

My research focuses on three-dimensional imaging of multiphase flow in permeable media using both in-house and synchrotron X-ray micro-CT, with applications to subsurface hydrogen storage, geological sequestration of CO2 and remediation of contaminated soils.

Current projects

- 3D imaging of H2 and CO2 storage in subsurface rocks

- Pore-scale dynamics of immiscible fluid displacement in porous media using ultrafast synchrotron X-ray micro-tomography

- Effect of wettability on multiphase flow in porous media

- Multi-scale characterisation of carbonate rocks including dissolution during supercritical CO2-saturated brine injection: FIBSEM and X-ray micro-tomographic imaging

- Thermoregulation and ventilation in termite nests: Towards bio-inspired solutions to design energy efficient buildings
