Personal profile

Research interests

My research focuses on three-dimensional imaging of multiphase flow in permeable media using both in-house and synchrotron X-ray micro-CT, with applications to subsurface hydrogen storage, geological sequestration of CO2, remediation of contaminated soils and oil recovery from reservoirs.

Current projects

- 3D imaging of hydrogen storage in reservoir rocks

- Pore-scale dynamics of immiscible fluid displacement in porous media using ultrafast synchrotron X-ray micro-tomography

- Effect of wettability on multiphase flow in porous media

Multi-scale characterisation of carbonate rocks (including dissolution during supercritical CO2-saturated brine injection): FIBSEM, Confocal and X-ray micro-tomographic imaging

Other curiosity-driven projects

- Architectural design of smart ventilation and drainage systems in termite nests.
