Biography

I am intrinsically motivated to develop my students to be resilient learners in this interconnected world by fostering effective collaboration and communication. Putting into action, I aim to build communities and develop robust global student-staff collaboration in my own teaching practices, which aligns well with the Heriot-Watt educational framework: Globally Connected Learning.

Roles & Responsibilities

First Year Coordinator of Studies (July 2021 till present)

  • Provide co-ordination for all Year 1 subjects in AMS programmes including various operational matters.  
  • Engage in various platform such as boards of studies, global curriculum reviews and SSLC meetings to improve Year 1 AMS students’ learning experience and attainment.

Student Societies Liaison (2020 to 2022)

  • Lead actuarial and data science societies SAS and SOLID in organising a series of successful events, expanding connections to the wider community of organisations and industries.

Maths Gym Coordinator (April 2020 till present)

  • An initiative to support students from all schools in developing their maths/stats skills

EmPOWER Champion and Impact Coach (June 2020 till present)

  • Guide students in discovering themselves, their purposes and impacts in the Impact Statement Workshop and beyond.

Research interests

Algebra and its application in coding theory, quantum error-correction, quantum computing and machine learning.
