Dr Jun Han accepts PhD students in the areas of Building Science, Energy Engineering, Architectural Engineering.

Research interests

Dr. Jun Han is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Heriot-Watt University. Before joining Heriot-Watt, Dr.Han worked as Research Scientist / Engineer at The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Australia. He worked in the CSIRO Building Energy Modeling team in extensions to functionality of the AccuRate Sustainability software and CSIRO building stock models, under the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) – a joint Federal, State and Territory Government initiative. 

He holds a Ph.D. degree in Building Services Engineering from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU) and a master’s degree in Thermal Science and Energy Engineering from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), a bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering from Southwest University of Science and Technology(SUST).

Dr. Han’s primary research interests are renewable and sustainable energy technologies such as photovoltaic system and phase change materials, and CFD urban built environment modeling. He is an external reviewer for SBIR/STTR Phase I Release 3 Grant Applications, Department of Energy (DOE), USA. Dr. Han has been listed in Worldwide Who’s Who, Australian Professionals in 2013. He served as Assistant to Subject Editor of Applied Energy, an international journal.
