Biography

Teoh Jing Wei is an Assistant Professor at the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences, Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM). He holds a Bachelors (Honours) degree in Actuarial Science, and has received his Ph.D. in Statistics in 2024 from HWUM. His research interest is in statistical process control, statistical quality control, design optimisation, and machine learning. Having started his Ph.D. in November 2021, he has now authored 12 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and/or proceedings of international conferences, including 3 first quartile (Q1) journals indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database. Throughout his Ph.D. studies, he was awarded the “Best Paper Award” in 2 international conferences hosted by IEEE as a recognition of the novelty of his work. He has also developed a control charting program for monitoring real-time data in an industrial project with a renowned technological company.
