Jenny Wood is a Research Associate in I-SPHERE, who joined the team in January 2017. She has undertaken research on homelessness policy, severe and multiple disadvantage, interventions to assist people facing homelessness, inclusive urban planning, and children’s human rights. Her methodological expertise lies in qualitative research (in-depth interviewing, focus groups, and working with children), with emerging skills in interpretive policy analysis, systematic reviewing and meta-analysis.  

Jenny contributes to a range of major I-SPHERE projects such as the Homelessness Monitor SeriesDestitution in the UK, Hard Edges Scotland, and a rapid systematic evidence review on what works to end rough sleeping. She also recently led the creation of An Evidence and Gap Map of Homelessness Interventions in collaboration with the Campbell Collaboration. Having completed her PhD in 2016 on children’s human rights and the Scottish Planning system, Jenny also writes about the spatial implications of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. She has delivered a range of community engagement sessions with children; training to policy-makers and practitioners; and presented an international keynote presentation. She is also Co-founder and Co-director of Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation ‘A Place in Childhood’ (APiC). She has a keen interest in the Child Friendly City Movement and child-friendly town planning policy.
