Personal profile
Research interests
I am interested in geomicrobiological processes in surface and subsurface environments, in particular oil reservoirs.
My research topics include:
• Geomicrobiology of carbon and sulfur cycling
• Sediment biogeochemistry
• Deep biosphere
• Microbial migration
• Microbial ecology of oil reservoirs
• Ecophysiology of anerobes
• Dormancy and activation of microbial populations, in particular endospores
• Bioremediation of polluted environments
• Oil reservoir management, souring and corrosion control through bioengineering
• Microbial technologies for sustainable industrial activity
