 Ibrahim Albayati has joined School of Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh as an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Director of the International Electrical and Electronic Systems Programme in partnership with Zhubanov University in Kazakhstan. Prior to joining Heriot-Watt, Ibrahim was Senior Lecturer (Asst. Professor) of Electrical Engineering in the School of Engineering at the University of Lincoln, where he involved in various teaching and administrative duties and led the postgraduate programme of Advanced Mechanical Engineering and many industrial and research projects at Lincoln. Ibrahim is a highly skilled Chartered Engineer with strong enthusiasm for learning and development, with about ten years of academic experience in teaching and research, programme development, improving students’ skills and knowledge and bridging the gap with industry, and more than 18 years of extensive industrial and projects management experience in various fields of industry such as LV/MV Power Systems, Cooling and Refrigeration, Communication and Access Control Systems, Construction, and Consultancy.

My principal research interests lie in the field of Electrical and Control Engineering with specific focus on:
