Personal profile

Biography

I am a dedicated Electrical and Electronics Engineering professional with extensive experience in academia and startup environments. I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute of Photonics and Quantum Sciences at Heriot-Watt University. I focus on a collaborative research project to automate the alignment of precision optical systems using AI and Machine Learning. This project, funded by the UK Government (EPSRC EP/V054497/1), is a partnership between Heriot-Watt University, the University of Edinburgh, and Leonardo UK.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree at Anna University (2010), a Master’s in Engineering specializing in VLSI Design (2013), and an MSc in Robotics at Heriot-Watt University (2024). I also hold a Doctorate in Machine Learning and the Internet of Things (IoT) from Anna University, India (2022). With over a decade of experience, I specialize in robotics engineering, research and development, and product innovation.

In my previous role as a Startup Mentor at SNS Innovation Hub, I contributed to formulating innovation policies and establishing collaborations with institutes like IIT-Palakkad and Nagpur. I also served as an Assistant Professor at SNS College of Technology for over 11 years, coordinating various initiatives, including NIRF, NBA, NAAC, and IIC.

I was recognized with the Innovation Award in the India Innovation Challenge Design Contest 2018. I have published five book chapters in the field of IoT and over 15 articles in Scopus-indexed international journals and conferences. I also hold a design patent in India.

I am passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technologies and fostering collaborative environments that drive innovation. I welcome connections and discussions on exciting projects, research opportunities, and collaborations in machine learning, IoT, and robotics.
