Biography

Dr. Frédéric Bosché is Associate Professor in the Institute for Sustainable Building Design at Heriot-Watt University, and conducts his research as leader of the CyberBuild Lab (http://cyberbuild.hw.ac.uk/) with which he's already delivered research projects of value of approx. £1.5m, received international research and innovation awards, published numerous peer-reviewed papers, received professional and public media coverage, and participated in numerous public engagement events. Dr. Bosché’s research focuses on the application of novel technologies in the AEC sector, with specific contributions (including more than 50 publications) to the automatic extraction of valuable information from 3D point cloud data for Scan-to-BIM and Scan-vs-BIM, applications, the development of novel immersive Virtual and Mixed Reality systems for training and data exploitation; and the use of wireless sensor networks for enhancing health & safety.

Dr Bosché is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Automation in Construction, and sits on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Automation and Robotics in Construction (IAARC).
