Personal profile

Research interests

I am a Research Fellow at the Institute for Social Policy, Housing, Environment and Real Estate (I-SPHERE), Heriot-Watt University. I work primarily with Prof. Suzanne Fitzpatrick, Prof. Glen Bramley, Prof. Mark Stephens and Dr Gina Netto.

My research interests lie in the fields of poverty, social exclusion, homelessness and foodbanks. Since 2008 I have been involved in several research projects undertaking both qualitative and quantitative research, working with a range of clients including the Scottish Government, Communities and Local Government, Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. I have been a Principal Investigator on five research projects with budgets of up to £50k.

Fingerprint Fingerprint is based on mining the text of the person's scientific documents to create an index of weighted terms, which defines the key subjects of each individual researcher.
