Biography
Dr. Esraa Khatab is an Assistant Professor in the School of Mathematical and Computer Science at Heriot-Watt Univeristy, Dubai Campus.
She completed her Bachelor's and Master's studies with honors in computer Engieering at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Egypt, in 2014 and 2016 consecutively. Dr. Esraa obtained her PhD degree from the University of Central Lancashire, UK, in 2024.
Dr. Esraa Khatab has worked in the Academic and Teaching field for 11 years. She worked as a Teaching Assistant and then an Assistant Professor at the AASTMT, Egypt, for 10 years. Then, she worked as an Assistant Professor at Heriot-Watt University, Dubai.
Her acadeimc and research interests are focused on Computer Systems. In addition to this, Artificial Intelligence Applications in Healthcare, Medical Imaging, Autonomous Driving, and Precision Agriculture.
Some of the courses that she taught are: Hardware-Software Interfaces, Data Structures and Algorithms, Data Acquisition Systems, Computer Architecture, Digital Systems Design, and Systems Programming.
She is an Associate Fellow of the Advanced HE (Higher Education), and she is currently seeking her Post Graduate Certification in Teaching and Learning (PGCert - TL) from Heriot-Watt University.
