Research interests

Recently I have been working on three EPSRC projects one studying human behaviour in aligning laser systems, one studying trust in auonomous systems, and one studying human-machine teaming for maritime environments. This year I am also teaching (Experimental Design and Web Design and Databases).

Previously I worked on Human Robot Interaction and Explainable AI as Experimental Lead for the HRI theme of the ORCA Hub project. That extended work from the MIRIAM project involving a conversational agent for autonomous systems including autonomous underwater survey vehicles.

Other research interests are: Image-based emotion feedback, Image summarisation, Cognition; Promoting collaboration through computer supported cooperative work (CSCW) and visualisation; also User experience when using visualisations of complex data.
