Darren is interested in supervising PhD projects relating to a range of areas including, but not limited to, historical accounting investigations, the interaction between accounting and the popular cultural industries and the accountancy profession.

Research interests

Darren's primary area of research is investigating the links between accounting, management and various aspects of popular culture. Darren has a particular interest in the intersection between accounting and the musical industries, and this formed the basis of his PhD thesis. Darren is also interested in the historical study of accounting and has several research projects in progress in this area.

Roles & Responsibilities

Darren is course leader on the 1st year Accounting Profession and Practice course and the 4th year Accounting History course. He also lectures on the 3rd year Auditing and Assurance course.

Darren is the admissions tutor for accountancy and finance.
