Biography
Chris's background in toxicology begins after graduaing from the University of Abertay Dundee with a BSc in Biotechnology, working for CXR Biosciences - a specialist toxicology CRO based in Dundee. Over the years, firstly working at CXR, and later Concept Life Sciences, Chris gained many skills and expertise in toxicology, cumulating in becoming a European Registered Toxicologist. After almost a decade in contract research, Chris decided to return to academia, firstly gaining an MSc in Drug Discovery and Development from the University of Aberdeen, and then a PhD in Toxicology from the University of Glasgow. Chris spent a period as a post-doctoral scientist at the Drug Discovery Unit of the University of Dundee before in 2024 joining Heriot-Watt University as an Assistant Professor based in the Institute of Biological Chemistry, Biophysics, and Bioengineering.
