Cheng-Xiang Wang received the PhD degree in Wireless Communications from Aalborg University, Denmark, in 2004.
He has been with Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK since 2005, and became a Professor in Wireless Communications in 2011. He is also a Chair Professor of Shandong University, and a Guest Professor of Southeast University, China. He was a Research Fellow at the University of Agder, Norway, from 2001-2005, a Visiting Researcher at Siemens AG-Mobile Phones, Munich, Germany, in 2004, and a Research Assistant at Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg, Germany, from 2000-2001. His current research interests include wireless channel modelling and 5G wireless communications. He has edited 1 book and published 1 book chapter and about 190 journal/conference papers.
Prof. Wang has served as an Editor/Guest Editor for 11 international journals, including IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON VEHICULAR TECHNOLOGY (since 2011), IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS (2007--2009), and IEEE JOURNAL ON SELECTED AREAS IN COMMUNICATIONS. He has served as a TPC Chair/Member and General Chair for over 70 international conferences. He received the Best Paper Awards from IEEE Globecom 2010, IEEE ICCT 2011, ITST 2012, and IEEE VTC 2013-Fall. He is a Fellow of the IET and a Senior Member of the IEEE.
