Dr Ania A Drzewiecka is an Assistant Professor in Branding at the School of Textiles and Design at the Scottish Borders Campus. She imparts her expertise to, both, undergraduate and postgraduate programs, specialising in research methods, branding, and visual communication design.
Dr Drzewiecka’s professional experience has grown from many years supporting a wide array of organisations across diverse industries in visual design, business management and marketing communication design. Her academic journey includes studies in philosophy, psychology, and graphic design, culminating in the award of summa cum laude for innovation in her doctoral research. Her doctoral work focused on developing an innovative brand aesthetic audit methodology for the commercial benefits of retail brands in a digital environment and was completed in France. Subsequently, Dr Drzewiecka furthered her research through a post-doctorate fellowship exploring the duality of the impact of brand visual aesthetics on business attractiveness and mental engagement, and her research was completed in the USA.
In recognition of her contribution to art and design, in 2023 Dr Drzewiecka was honoured with a doctor honoris causa in brand and art design, jointly, by the International Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education and the American University of Business and Social Sciences. She is a chartered marketer and holds memberships of The Royal Institute of Philosophy, the Institute of Customer Management, the Royal Society of Arts, and is an associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Dr Drzewiecka extends her dedication through her role as an ethics officer at the School of Textiles and Design, and she is actively engaged as a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council and the review board for the International Conference on Business, Management and Governance (ICBMG).
