Biography

Dr Andrew Higham joined Heriot-Watt University as an Assistant Professor in Psychology in February 2025 and is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA). He holds an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Sheffield Hallam University (2021), where he published his dissertation exploring how football coaches experience morality and navigate moral atmospheres within their professional environments. Following his MSc, Dr Higham was awarded a PhD scholarship at Sheffield Hallam University (2024). His doctoral research employed innovative longitudinal photo-elicitation methods to examine how professional football coaches understand and experience well-being over time, offering fresh insights into the lived realities of coaching in elite sport.
