My main research area is geometric group theory, and in particular I specialise in Gromov-hyperbolicity.
I did my BSc and MSc degrees at the University of Pisa and Scuola Normale Superiore, and then a PhD at the University of Oxford, which I completed in 2013. After that, I spent 7 years at ETH Zurich, first as a postdoc and then as Assistant Professor, before moving to Heriot-Watt in 2020.
